Stephen Nairne has served as Chief Investment Officer at Raven Indigenous Capital Partners since 2018. Raven is an Indigenous-led and owned financial intermediary that provides patient risk capital to Indigenous social enterprise across Canada. Prior to joining Raven, Stephen was Managing Partner at AHL Venture Partners, a $100mn fund investing in innovative, scalable small- and medium-sized enterprises in Sub-Saharan Africa. Between 1995 and 2007, Stephen worked at Export Development Canada and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and was also an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia. Stephen holds degrees from McGill University and the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs in Ottawa. He lives in Vancouver with his wife and two children.
