Solomon Reece-Brass is the Co-Founder & CEO at Indige Corp.
Solomon is Tsimshian and Saulteaux; he is the first in three generations to be raised by his own parents because of the Indian Act. His late father was Victor Herman Reece, of the Gitga’at First Nation, a master carver and story teller and Sharon Jinkerson-Brass, of the Key First Nation, a medicine carrier, writer and filmmaker. Solomon was raised in a contemporary and traditional environment, learning to walk in two worlds. He has combined his experiences of being raised in a traditional home with his education in business to form a unique corporate vision. Solomon has always been politically active, working to bring forward Indigenous perspectives and issues in mainstream politics. Solomon has worked in both the public and private sector. Solomon is passionate advocate of Indigenous Sovereignty, Cultural Reclamation, Economic Development and Reconciliation.
Solomon has co-founded the Indige Corp. group of companies with his business partner Robert Stone. The company develops projects with Indigenous communities and provides the opportunity for outside investors to participate in the emerging Indigenous economy. The company is a champion for Sovereign Indigenous Commerce, building on the inherent rights of Indigenous Peoples to develop their own economic future on Turtle Island.
