Ryan is the founder of FountainStone Solutions Inc. (FountainStone), an engineering and environmental consultant. The FountainStone is symbolic of life, providence, sustainability, creativity, and interdependence. Our approach is based on the perspective that we are interdependent and connected.
Ryan has been involved as a mentor for aboriginal youth involved in social entrepreneurship, is committed to supporting and building bridges towards a shared future and strives to live in a good way according to his understanding. He passionately believes that multigenerational injustices and issues arising from that situation require a multi-generational effort to rebuild. He is interested in exploring opportunities to participate in truth and reconciliation at the level of person to person, business to business, community to community, and culture to culture. We welcome the opportunity and seek to build community, capacity, and a shared future.
Ryan combines his technical expertise with a creative, interdisciplinary style to develop “Collaborative Solutions for your Environment”, considering the interconnection between human activities, water and the environment. His experience in engineering and environmental consulting includes planning, regulatory applications, assessment, civil design, construction and reclamation, for municipal and government infrastructure, oilsands, mining, aggregates, oil and gas, alternative/renewable energy, and First Nation Corporations.
Ryan and his wife Catherine are blessed with 3 teenage children. As a resident and engineering consultant based in Cochrane, Alberta, Ryan Legary is privileged to live, work and raise his family within the hereditary homelands of the Niitsitapi (the Blackfoot Confederacy: Siksika, Pikaani, Kainai), Îyârhe Nakoda, and Tsuut’ina Nations, within the lands of Treaty 7, and home of the Metis Nation of Alberta, Region III.
