Allan Murphy has extensive experience in public policy, politics and business. Prior to his appointment as Vice-President, Government Relations at the Canadian Propane Association, Allan was the organization’s Senior Director of Policy. He was also a Senior Counsel at Temple Scott Associates, a Toronto-Ottawa based public affairs firm. Allan’s experience in government includes several years at a federal crown corporation. His experience in federal politics dates back to 1988. Of note, Allan was Senior Advisor to former federal cabinet minister Peter MacKay and Chief of Staff to Mr. MacKay when he was Deputy Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada. In private business, Allan and his wife Helen publish a weekly community newspaper in Nova Scotia called the Guysborough Journal. In 2019 the Journal will mark its 25th anniversary.
