Intersectional Approaches to Indigenous Inclusion
WORKSHOP | 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Workshop Description
For employers to effectively engage and leverage Indigenous talent they must recognize that Indigenous communities are broadly diverse. Location, gender, age, sexual orientation, ability and countless other factors shape Indigenous experiences in Canada’s labour-market. This dynamic roundtable session will explore the business benefits of taking an intersectional approach to Indigenous inclusion. Attendees will come to a shared understanding of intersectionality as a concept, its application in a business context and how key principles can be applied to recruitment and retention strategies to make workplaces more inclusive of a broader range of Indigenous workers.
