Biography
Rod is passionate about people potential and building inclusive cultures where everyone thrives. He works as a Trusted Advisor, Coach and Facilitator with individuals and teams across a variety of sectors aligning people to desired outcomes.
Taking a human centred design approach Rod builds high performing teams to achieve exceptional results. Recently Rod led CPHR Alberta as President and CEO, and with the Board of Directors, led the organization turn around igniting membership growth and generating financial stability for the Association.
Rod has experience in the academic sector as both an instructor and senior executive. In this work he led the development of community based workforce capacity building projects in Australia, Kazakhstan and Equatorial Guinea. In his role as Associate Vice President Corporate Development Rod traveled to over 40 countries giving him a global perspective on the changing world of work.
As a citizen of the Metis Nation of Alberta, Rod is committed to Indigenous inclusion and supporting Indigenous economic development that support the full engagement of Indigenous communities in prosperity.
Rod holds a BSc in Zoology, a BA in Economics and an MBA, all from the University of Calgary. He is Chartered Professional in Human Resources holding the CPHR designation. In addition, Rod is a Certified Leadership Coach.
Rod lives with his wife Leona deVinne in Calgary. Together they have a blended family of 5 adult children, 4 dogs and 1 cat.
