Biography

Michelle Robinson is Sahtu Dene with a weekly podcast in its 5th year, called Native Calgarian. Her public, Indigenous book club is over 6yrs old. She is a mother, public speaker and advocate for Indigenous Peoples’ and for truth and reconciliation, working with all levels of government and community groups. – a facilitator for Mending Broken Hearts: Healing Unresolved Grief through the White Bison, Wellbriety Training Institute – A volunteer on the Calgary Police Service Indigenous Justice Circle – the volunteer Indigenous liaison for 12 Community Safety Initiative that runs the only open to the public Indigenous book club, Chapters and Chat celebrating six years this June of 2022 – a cochair of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls & Two Spirit Calgary committee -a co-founder of VOICES, a group advocating for the Two Spirit, and queer people of colour in Calgary – is the past Alberta Chair for the Indigenous Peoples’ Commission in Alberta. – was the 1st First Nation to run for city council of Calgary and ran as the candidate for the Alberta Liberal Party for Calgary East April 16, 2019. – Cofounder of Sovereign Spirits, an Indigenous non profit for Two Spirit, Indigiqueer and LGBTQ2IA+ Michelle also has a podcast called Native Calgarian on its 5th year.
