Biography

Melissa is a highly skilled professional with a diverse law, human services, and community development background. As the Business Development Manager at Futurpreneur, she passionately supports Indigenous young entrepreneurs in Alberta, British Columbia, the Northwest Territories, and the Yukon. 

With a legal background, Melissa brings valuable insights to her role in business development and has a strong foundation in coaching and guiding individuals to achieve meaningful employment and upskilling. 

Melissa’s commitment lies in promoting Indigenous sovereignty, building meaningful relationships, and supporting Indigenous economic resurgence. She’s dedicated to advocating for Indigenous people in North America and creating opportunities for their growth. 

As a Néhiyaw iskwêw (Cree woman) and a Saddle Lake Cree Nation member, Melissa’s unique perspective and deep cultural understanding enrich her work.  

In her role, Melissa forges partnerships, bridges networks, and empowers Indigenous entrepreneurs to achieve their goals while contributing to their community’s economic growth and prosperity.
