Biography

Lauren is a Program Manager and Human Resource professional committed to contributing to a more equitable and inclusive world. She has over a decade of experience in human resources, Indigenous engagement and equity, diversity and inclusion, predominantly within the post-secondary, energy and non-profit sectors. In January 2023, she commenced a role with Rogers Communications as the Senior Manager, Inclusion and Diversity. Lauren has Cree, Swedish and German ancestry and is a citizen of Alexander First Nation in Treaty 6 Territory. Lauren is the principal consultant of the Sequoia Group and has worked with clients across Alberta on curriculum development, program management and strategic planning. Lauren uses a values-centric and intersectional approach to her work and is guided by Linda Tuhiwai-Smith’s 25 Indigenous projects, which describe opportunities to further an agenda of social justice, cultural restoration and decolonization. Lauren holds a Master of Arts in Global Leadership from Royal Roads University and lives in Calgary with her partner, two children and two golden retrievers.
