Inez is a cultural innovator, a powerful influencer, a dynamic leader, and a trusted advocate. She has her own unique style and her life and career have been dedicated to working for equality and social justice, bringing people together and creating inclusive environments where everyone feels able to be their own unique self. Empowering people to be their authentic selves is what true leadership is about and it is also how organizations can keep employees inspired and engaged. Much of her energy and inspiration comes from community work, volunteering, and mentoring. Giving back to the community is how she recharges. Today, she sits on the Calgary Police Department’s Anti-Racism Action Committee. She is an advocate for the next generation as part of several Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (ID&E) councils and committees, and in partnership with post-secondary institutions, she mentor’s minority students at risk of dropping out of school. Inez counts herself lucky to be one of the people following their dreams. She truly believes Inclusion, Diversity and Equity work is what she was always meant to do and loves seeing the positive impact it has on others. She currently lives on the treaty 7 Territory of Calgary Alberta.
The Province of Alberta is working in partnership with the Government of Canada to provide employment support programs and services.
In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, we honour and acknowledge Moh’kinsstis, and the traditional Treaty 7 territory and oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. Finally, we acknowledge all Nations – Indigenous and non – who live, work and play on this land, and who honour and celebrate this territory.
