Gene is a highly experienced Indigenous professional with a 25-year track record spanning diverse industries. A member of Mistawasis Nehiwayak in Treaty 6 territory and a descendant of Chief Mistawasis, he maintains a strong community connection. Gene played a pivotal role in the success of Misty Ventures, showcasing exceptional relationship-building and partnership skills.
He served as a trustee for Mistawasis Specific Claims for 3 years, overseeing a multi-million dollar trust recognized for exemplary administration. With a commitment to Indigenous interests and implementation, Gene is a trusted representative.
Gene’s expertise covers transmission lines, power generation, energy efficiency, oil/gas, mining, construction, and more. His unique Indigenous perspective adds value to engagements with Indigenous communities.
Formal training in community-based justice complements Gene’s experience in conflict resolution. His dedication to addressing intergenerational impacts of the Indian Residential School legacy is evident.
